These epilogues and the rest of your time in the game end up being a taste of the life fans of the series have wished for from John's story. It’s a small taste of peace and happiness before the cycle begins anew from what we saw in the original Red Dead Redemption . Arthur’s journal being passed to John helps facilitate this all-too-brief period of happiness in his life.

Perhaps the most lauded aspect of the game is its story (aside from maybe the graphics). It's a beautiful and heartbreaking tale about personal redemption, the end of the outlaw, and the changing American landscape of the late 19th century. At the heart of the story is Arthur Morgan, a violent man who eventually finds redemption (hence the title). It's a fascinating story on its own, but it also serves as a prequel to the original game. Therefore, it needed to both tell a good story on its own and bridge the gap between 1899 and the events of Red Dead Redemption 2 secrets Dead Redemption . And sometimes it stumbles on both accou

It was finding all of the Riddler trophies in Batman: Arkham Knight . For Breath of the Wild , it was completing all the shrines before facing Ganon. In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt , my favorite part of the game were its fascinating side quests, especially the boxing matches in each region: that all culminated in fighting Skellige’s champion, a straight up bear. All of these goals bubble up and become the most memorable parts of these grandiose games to me.

In Red Dead Redemption 2 Rockstar attempted to take that statement and remove the mocking tone, presenting the fall of Dutch Van der Linde and the dissolution of his gang as a great tragedy, much like the death of the Old West. They found a way to turn the bad into good, and even then not so convincingly.

And speaking of tuberculosis, how is it that Arthur didn't infect a single person? TB is a very contagious disease that spreads when an infected person coughs or sneezes, and only a few droplets of spit are required for infection. And, in case you weren't paying attention, Arthur is hacking all over the place by the end of the story. Yet no one became sick. The epilogue catches us up on various characters' fates, and not a single one of them has passed from tuberculosis. It's possible that the disease is latent in some of them, but that's just speculation. It's a miracle that no one became infected after Arthur coughed all over the c

If you haven’t finished both Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 , then put down this article and either go play them or find a Let’s Play video to watch, because today we’re going to be delving into major spoilers for both games. RDR2 being a prequel to RDR has allowed for Rockstar to make a tremendous amount of call forwards, deliberately ensuring that playing RDR after its sequel will have more of an impact. One of these bits of foreshadowing happens when John is missing in a snowstorm at the beginning of the game, and Arthur and Javier are sent out to look for

One of the most affecting examples of this for my playthrough in Red Dead Redemption 2 was when I came across a house after finishing a race with a stranger. I went into the house curious if there was anything inside, such as the seemingly endless amount of cigarette cards. Inside, there was a father and son having a tense confrontation over the father's wasteful habits that caused his wife to leave them. While leaving, the boy discovered my hiding place and ran to his room. The father pulled out a gun, so I naturally killed him and proceeded to loot the location as muscle memory kicked in for every other location in the game.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been out for nearly two months, and it is still one of the most talked about games. (Unless you're talking about Fallout 76 and complaining about how terrible it's running.) The reason Red Dead Redemption 2 has been on our minds for so long is that it has so much to do. There are so many side missions and Easter Eggs for fans to find in the world. I have had the game for so long, and I still can't seem to put it d

These next two maps must be found on hermits. The Torn Treasure Map requires you to shoot the hermit who holds it in order to acquire it. There is a home called Manito Glade that is north of Annesburg. An angry old man lives there. Once you get rid of him, search the drawers of his house. You should find the first half of the Torn Treasure

600Dutch’s "You can’t fight gravity" speech is one of the most memorable in gaming. After a long and grueling chase all over the United States to track down the last of his gang, John finally confronts his former mentor, only to listen to a heartbreaking monologue about how you can’t fight your nature. In RDR2 , after picking a fight with the US Army, Dutch makes nearly the same speech but instead uses it as a way to clue Arthur in on his escape p
